Borussia Dortmund will look to bounce back from a 4-0 deficit against Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Tuesday.

Borussia Dortmund host Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday looking to overturn a 4-0 deficit.

Raphinha scored his 12th Champions League goal of the season while a Robert Lewandowski brace took his total to 11 at Camp Nou last week.

A Lamine Yamal strike 13 minutes from time put the game beyond doubt as Barcelona were in their element.

It will be difficult for the German side, but they do have home advantage and arguably have nothing to lose.

BORUSSIA DORTMUND VS BARCELONA PREVIEW

Dortmund go into this game off the back of a confidence-boosting 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich on Saturday. It was a pulsating encounter at the Allianz Arena as Dortmund thwarted Bayern’s attempt to go eight points clear at the top of the Bundesliga.

A Maximilian Beier header was Dortmund’s opener in the 48th minute, but Raphael Guerreiro equalised against his former club. Serge Gnabry was the catalyst to Bayern’s changed fortunes and four minutes later, he put the Bavarians ahead. Waldemar Anton scored 15 minutes from time to reap a share of the spoils.

The result sees Dortmund sit in eighth place in the Bundesliga, six points off RB Leipzig in fourth. It did stretch their unbeaten run to three games in the German top flight though.

Conversely, Barcelona laboured past Leganes in La Liga. A Jorge Saenz own goal was enough to see them over the line, allowing them to extend their unbeaten run to 24 games.

Borussia Dortmund are pretty much at full strength for this match, with only Marcel Sabitzer and Nico Schlotterbeck missing due to knee injuries.

Left-back Alejandro Balde picked up a hamstring injury for Barcelona against Leganes and will be out for the rest of the month. Gerard Martin will likely fill in.

Marc Bernal, Marc Casado and Marc-Andre ter Stegen are all out with knee issues too. Dani Olmo’s adductor issue probably won’t heal in time either.

BORUSSIA DORTMUND VS BARCELONA – PREDICTIONS

Borussia Dortmund Win
Dortmund have to win and win comprehensively. Expect them to play a 4-2-3-1 formation as they desperately need goals. The home crowd will be behind them and if they can grab an early goal, they could secure a win.

Draw
Barcelona would be satisfied with a draw and may save themselves considering bigger games coming up. Despite their domination in the first leg, the two teams are reasonably evenly matched. Dortmund’s 2-2 draw away at Bayern Munich will also give them confidence. Meanwhile, two of the three matches between Dortmund and Barca at Signal Iduna Park have ended in draws.

Barcelona Win
The stats are certainly on their side, while they were absolutely rampant last week at Camp Nou. They have never lost to Dortmund while they are looking for their ninth straight win on the road. They are also looking to secure their fourth successive win against a German side in the Champions League.

BORUSSIA DORTMUND VS BARCELONA – BETTING TIPS

Barcelona Win
It’s hard to look beyond Barcelona after their demolition job last week. They have been absolutely stunning in 2025, having not lost yet. While they did struggle against Leganes over the weekend, they did what needed to be done to get the result.

Dortmund have never beaten Barcelona at home, drawing two and losing one of their previous three encounters. That defeat came earlier in this season – 3-2 in the group stage of the Champions League. This too will give the Catalans confidence.

Dortmund’s current home record is also poor. They have only won three of their last 12 games in all competitions.

Both Teams To Score
Dortmund will have to play wide expansive football due to their need for goals. This will allow Barcelona in and with their talented front-line, this is dangerous. The top three scorers in the competition will all be on the field. Raphinha has 12 goals, Lewandowski has 11 and Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy has 10.
