π PREVIEW FOR CHELSEA VS LEICESTER CITY
Itβs another top versus bottom clash as fifth-placed Chelsea face second-from-bottom Leicester City in the Premier Leagueβs early Sunday kick-off.
The two sides need the points for completely different reasons. The London outfit are just one point behind Manchester City in the final Champions League place and could leapfrog them if results go in their favour.
Meanwhile, the Foxes are five points from safety and know time is running out to close the gap between themselves and 17th-placed Wolves.
Chelsea go into this game off the back of a 2-1 away win at KΓΈbenhavn in midweek. Their last league game saw them thrash basement side Southampton 4-0 at Stamford Bridge. Enzo Marescaβs men will be hoping for a similar performance here.
Defender Wesley Fofana was an unused substitute against the Saints but could return to action for the first time since December. He has recovered from a hamstring injury.
Benoit Badiashile featured as a substitute in the Danish capital on Thursday and could also feature, while right-back Malo Gusto should also be fit despite limping off.
Leicester are on a five-match losing streak in all competitions, four of these defeats having come in the Premier League. Things donβt get any easier for the Foxes as they host Manchester United next.
Woyo Coulibaly missed Leicesterβs 2-0 defeat to West Ham on 27 February but could feature here. Meanwhile, Ricardo Pereira is returning to fitness, but is unlikely to play.
Chelsea won the reverse fixture 2-1 back in November, conceding a last-minute penalty after Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez had put them 2-0 in front.

β½ CHELSEA VS LEICESTER CITY PREDICTION
π FINAL RESULT β WHO WILL PREVAIL?
β
Chelsea Win
Everything points to a Chelsea win but I advise some caution. Before their 4-0 demolition of Southampton last week, they had lost their previous three games. Two of these defeats came in the Premier League. Conversely, Chelsea have also won four of their last six Premier League games at Stamford Bridge. Meanwhile, Leicester have only one of their last six away games in the top flight.
βοΈ Draw
Chelseaβs recent indifferent form could be their undoing, particularly if the home crowd get anxious. The longer it remains 0-0, the more likely the Foxes could hold on for a draw.
π₯ Leicester Win
Jamie Vardy always has the power to surprise and could take advantage of a restive crowd if things donβt go Chelseaβs way.
β½ TOTAL GOALS OVER/UNDER
π₯ Over 2.5 Goals
You have to go all the way back to 4 January to find a Chelsea match with fewer than 2.5 goals. This was a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace, with all 10 subsequent games having at least three goals.
π Under 2.5 Goals
There were only two goals in two of Leicesterβs last three defeats, 0-2 against Arsenal on 15 February and 2-0 against West Ham last time out.
π€ BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
β
Yes
Both teams have scored in the last five fixtures between these two sides and with Cole Palmer and Jamie Vardy on the pitch, there is always a high chance of goals.
π« No
Leicester have failed to score in four of their last six games and with Chelsea having conceded just 36 goals all season, it is unlikely they can score here.
β ANYTIME GOALSCORERS
β‘ Carlton Palmer (Chelsea)
With 14 goals this season, Palmer is one of the Premier Leagueβs top scorers and has been a constant threat all season.
π― Jamie Vardy (Leicester)
Vardy is always dangerous in the box and has netted seven times for the Foxes this campaign.

MY VERDICT
