Manchester City will look to confirm their place in the top five of the Premier League by securing the single point they need when they visit Craven Cottage on Sunday.
They sit in third place in the table, two points ahead of Aston Villa in sixth. The West Midlands side have a far inferior goal difference, so City will finish inside the top five should they draw.
However, with Newcastle United and Chelsea level on points with the Villans, if any of those sides fail to win, City will still finish in the Champions League qualifying spots regardless of their result. The worst case for City is if all three sides win, as this would push them into sixth.
FULHAM VS MAN CITY PREVIEW
Manchester City have had the upper hand over Fulham in recent seasons, winning all of the last 17 encounters between the two sides. They are unbeaten in 23, including a 3-2 win at the Etihad back in October.
Andreas Pereira opened the scoring for Fulham, but a Mateo Kovačić brace and a Jérémy Doku strike saw City assert control of the match. Rodrigo Muniz scored a late consolation for the Cottagers.
Last season’s corresponding fixture was a 4-0 win for City. A Joško Gvardiol brace, along with goals from Phil Foden and Julián Alvarez did the damage.
City go into this fixture in good form, having won five of their last six in the Premier League. Their only blip was a goalless draw against Southampton. Last weekend, they lost to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup Final, despite being favourites. They bounced back quickly though, defeating Bournemouth 3-1 on Tuesday.
Tenth-placed Fulham, meanwhile, have endured more mixed form. They have won only two of their last six Premier League games, but were victorious last time out against Brentford.
Timothy Castagne, Harrison Reed, Reiss Nelson, and Rodrigo Muniz are all doubtful for Fulham.
Manchester City are almost at full strength but Mateo Kovačić is suspended following his dismissal against Bournemouth. John Stones is likely to be their main absence through injury.
FULHAM VS MAN CITY – PREDICTIONS
Fulham Win
Fulham beat Liverpool 3-2 at Craven Cottage last month so on their day can be a match for anyone. They have also beaten other top five contenders Nottingham Forest (2-1) and Newcastle United (3-1) on their own patch.
Draw
Fulham have had a decent season and were close to holding City at the Etihad back in October.
Man City Win
City have the upper hand in this fixture and are looking for their 18th straight win. They are also unbeaten in 23 meetings between the two sides.

Manchester City Win
It’s hard to look beyond Manchester City considering their exemplary record against Fulham. They are also a team in form, FA Cup Final defeat aside, and also have more to play for. They will want to make up for a disappointing campaign by at least qualifying for the Champions League. Fulham won’t make it easy – they beat Liverpool at Craven Cottage after all – but I expect City to do it.
Over 2.5 Goals
Six of Fulham’s last eight Premier League games have delivered Over 2.5 goals, including their 3-2 defeat of Liverpool on this very ground. They beat Brentford 2-3 last time out. Fulham have not kept a clean sheet in the league since mid-March when they defeated Tottenham 2-0. Manchester City have only failed to score once in their last six league games. Three of those six games had Over 2.5 goals. This includes a 5-2 victory against Crystal Palace and a 3-1 win over Bournemouth, the two sides directly below Fulham in the league table.
